Control the volume of each app from your menu bar, with clearer dictation and a movable live caption that stays out of your way.
Sound Controls
- Adjust or mute individual apps, choose their speakers, and watch live audio levels from the menu bar. Per-app controls require macOS 14.2 or later
- Use Solo to hear one app, Call Mode to lower other audio during calls, or save a favourite mix as a sound scene
- See and control playback in Spotify and Music, and adjust individual browser tabs with the optional Jack Tab Volume extension
- Choose how other apps sound while you dictate, including lower volume and four Muffle styles
Clearer, Faster Dictation
- The English speech model stays ready between dictations, with a final accuracy pass when you finish speaking
- Quiet microphone audio is levelled more carefully, and Jack prefers the Mac's built-in microphone over AirPods unless you choose another input
- Text cleanup uses your vocabulary and learned corrections, and can fall back to Apple Intelligence on supported Macs when the local cleanup model is unavailable
- Drag the live caption anywhere on screen. Words appear at a steadier pace, and Jack remembers where you leave it
- Start another dictation immediately after finishing, with more reliable pasting and spacing between consecutive dictations
Everyday Fixes
- Fixed a recurring clipboard pause when working with a large history
- Press Space to open or close Quick Look for the selected clip
- Improved sound-device handling to prevent repeated audio restarts, crackling, and slowdowns
